Vine Networks Acquires Vonex Fibre Assets on the Gold Coast and Enters Strategic Long-Term Partnership
Vine Networks and Vonex today announced a significant transaction that strengthens connectivity infrastructure on the Gold Coast and sets the foundation for expanded collaboration in Australia's regional telecommunications market.
Under the agreement, Vine Networks has acquired Vonex's fibre assets located on the Gold Coast. In conjunction with the acquisition, Vonex will enter into a long-term supply agreement with Vine Networks for both current and future fibre assets. The two companies will also commence exclusive due diligence on potential further asset purchases.
The transaction aligns with Vine Networks' strategy to expand its high-capacity network footprint. Vine Networks is actively looking forward to growing its presence into other regional coastal areas, where strong demand is forecast to deliver high double-digit percentage growth over the next 5-10 years. This expansion will leverage Vine Networks' extensive X-PON network delivery capabilities and private fibre infrastructure, with construction already underway in Far North Queensland and additional regional areas planned.
For Vonex, the divestment of its Gold Coast fibre assets represents a sharp redirection and renewed focus on its core business activities. Following its delisting from the ASX through a private acquisition, Vonex is positioned for substantial growth in its voice and data businesses over the next three years. The company now benefits from strong leadership dedicated to driving performance in these core segments.
